Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
As an outcome of Vatican Council 2, lay people were called to the ministry of Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMOHC). What a special privilege to be a bearer of Christ to His people! With that privilege comes the responsibility to be in good standing with the Church as a registered member of St. Rose Parish, attending mass on a weekly basis, and if married, married within the Catholic Church. Training is about 3 hours long and involves first the theology and spirituality of the Eucharist followed by training for the distribution of the Eucharist in our parish. Ministers make a once a month commitment according to a published schedule. If desired, ministers may also choose to bring Communion to those at home or at local facilities such as Masonicare. If you are feeling called to become an Extraordinary Ministry please speak with one of our priests and/or contact Marge Griffin at firstname.lastname@example.org
